I Went Alone as a Tunnel Artwork by Jake Reller April 8th - 26th "I Went Alone as a Tunnel is composed of recent lithographic prints, charcoal drawings and oil paintings, displaying my allegorical meditations and ruminations on the contradictions of the human condition. Man, his ruined buildings, and beasts inhabit wastelands of unstable meaning, diametrically opposed within a skein of the knowable and unknowable, sacred and profane, ethereal and corporeal, longing and hopelessness. My work draws on various art historical and literary traditions, invoking the twin specters of Borges and Goya to conjure visual metaphors ultimately concerned with the poetics of images." -Jake Reller Closing Reception on April 26th, 6-8pm in VU 507. Join us for refreshments, a meet-and-greet with the artist, and the opportunity to bring home a sample of Jake Reller's artwork.
