Polaris Project: Twenty students, one
barge, and a river on top of the world
Huxley College, will describe scientific research on the Siberian arctic that
he does with undergraduates from Western. The Polaris Project is an innovative
international collaboration among students, teachers, and scientists. Funded by
the National Science Foundation since 2008, the Polaris Project trains future
leaders in arctic research and informs the public about the Arctic.
Andy Bunn, assistant professor of Environmental Science at Western Washington
University’s Huxley College of the Environment.
